Chukar

The Chukar Partridge (Alectoris chukar) is larger than a quail, but smaller than a pheasant, weighing in at about one pound at ten to fourteen weeks. The Chukar, introduced to the U.S. from the Indies in 1883, does  well in the dry arid and semi-arid regions of the western United States.   If compared to pheasant and quail, Chukar is reportedly the best eating.
